When the pandemic hit last year, the Canal Fulton Public Library quickly acted to ensure the health and safety of you and our staff. When our building re-opened, we followed guidance from the CDC, requiring masks for anyone aged 2 and over. It has been a long, difficult year. At every stage of the pandemic, we have made our decisions based on guidance from the scientific community and the Stark County Health Department.
Now that we are entering a new stage of the pandemic, we continue to follow the guidance from the CDC and public health officials. Starting June 2, those who are vaccinated are not required to wear a mask in our building. Since children under the age of 12 cannot yet get vaccinated, they are to continue wearing masks while in the library or at library programs, until further notice.
We also look forward to bringing back in-person programs, some of which we will start to offer this summer. Pick up a copy of our latest newsletter, or visit our website at https://www.canalfultonlibrary.org/to find out more.
Masks remain welcome in our library, and, if you’re unvaccinated, you absolutely should wear one (and, if you can, get vaccinated!). That’s what the experts tell us – and, as librarians, you can trust that we have sought out the most reliable and accurate sources of information.
