With Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, they can! The Imagination Library helps set children up for success by putting books into the hands and hearts of children across the world.
FREE Books for Kids!
No catch! It’s true. Children from birth to age five in Stark County can receive a monthly book in the mail from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at no charge to the family. All books are age-appropriate and designed to ignite a life-long love of reading.
About the Imagination Library: Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library for the children within her home county and now has participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Republic of Ireland. So far, the program has gifted nearly 130 million books to more than 1,452,000 children since 1995!
About Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio: Ohio First Lady DeWine saw the impact the Imagination Library had in her own family and wanted every child in Ohio to have the same opportunity. In 2019 she established the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, which matches funds to help offset the cost of the program for local affiliates.
Stark County’s Imagination Library is brought to the children of Stark County by the Canal Fulton Public Library, Stark Library, United Way of Greater Stark County, and other area libraries: North Canton Public Library, Massillon Public Library, Rodman Public Library, Minerva Public Library, and the Louisville Public Library.
We are proud to invest in our children’s future by putting books in the hands of children right here in our own community, where nearly half of the children are below the poverty level.
