Along the Towpath: Guided Hike

Honoring the steadfast efforts of Ralph Regula and Al Simpson, we will recreate the first steps of their 1964 walk along the old Ohio & Erie Canal – the hike that has produced the present Towpath Trail, a National Heritage Area and so much more. This walking tour is a free program but space is limited so pre-registration is recommended. All ages are welcome – anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and may want to bring water. The tour will begin at the Canal Fulton Public Library, follow the Towpath Trail and end at Lock 4 Park (about 2.5 miles round trip). Call 330-854-4148 (ext. #3) to register.
