Spring Hill: One Stop on the Road to Freedom

February 5 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Early networks of Ohio’s Underground Railroad began in the 1810s by fervent opponents of slavery, including Spring Hill’s own Thomas and Charity Rotch. Their farm in the town of Kendal (1812) served as one stop among many for freedom seekers heading northward to Canada, with documentation of aid in the form of letters penned in 1820 and 1821. This presentation will discuss the stories and research surrounding Spring Hill Underground Railroad Site.
