Women at War (Rosies and W.A.S.P.s)
March 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us for a fascinating afternoon of history presented by Reed Kimball, Director of Education at the MAPS Air Museum. Learn how World War 2 served as a catalyst for many changes that American woman realized over the next few decades. The war opened the door to many career opportunities, both in the military and in industry, that had not been available previously. This presentation will highlight the impact that two groups, those that became collectively known as “Rosie the Riveter” and a group of women aviators that belonged to an organization called the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots had on the war and how they started the process of long-term change.
